He grew up in Mississippi and shared with me many horrifying stories and events that I, personally, could not relate to. In a selfish kind of way, I am grateful for his past, because I believe he became the person he is today because of his hardships. I did do my research and wanted to learn as much as I could about you and your travels. As a “white” woman and more importantly, an American, I wanted to let you know, you inspire me to be a better person all around.
